Someone obviously looking for the same thing sits down across and I signal that I am OK to share. He produces a four-socket extension-cord from the depths of his bag and after plugging our respective computers into it, we introduce ourselves. He happens to be a system-engineer working for IBM in Brussels and is on his way to the Desktop Summit too. He even participated in LGM 2010 ("Your face did look familiar") and currently works on installing VoIP systems for the Belgian ministry of finance. He explains: "As long as companies such as CISCO and Microsoft take decision-makers out to dinner, free software will never make it into government".
